Work the Land

Sow wheat and grind it into flour for bread. Pick olives for oil. Tread grapes for wine.

🌙

Day and Night

Make it back to the tent before dark. Raiders roam the desert at night. Draw the staff or sword, Zelda-style.

📜

Walk the Covenant

From Lech Lecha to the Akeidah, quests follow Bereishit 12-25 in the words of the Tanakh. On Erev Shabbat, say Kiddush over wine and bread and rest.

Words of Adonai and the people come from the Hebrew of Bereishit. Names stay Hebrew: Avram becomes Avraham, Sarai becomes Sarah, and the promise is Yitzchak. Trade with the caravans at every village, write the week's portion on the scroll, give tzedakah at the gates, and fish the Yarden. Godspeed.

For Parents and Teachers

Lech Lecha is built for readers roughly age 7 and up playing on their own, or younger with a parent alongside. Each quest runs 10 to 20 minutes.

The game walks the sequence of Avraham's story in order, quest by quest. Every word of Adonai spoken in the game is rendered from the Hebrew of Bereishit, with the verse reference shown on screen, and the week's parsha can be written on the in-game scroll.

The harder episodes, Sdom among them, are told in the text's own words rather than acted out as combat. Fighting in the game is limited to raiders and beasts. On Erev Shabbat you bring bread and wine to the tent for Kiddush and rest; play pauses and work stops until Shabbat ends.
